Well, I've done a lot of moaning in this blog about disastrous programs that didn't work, so I guess I should share a success story. We had 96 people in and out of the library last Friday night, during the biggest high school football game of the season, to attend our Twilight party. They ate all the food I made, even chomping down on the apples I brought for decoration out of desperation. They drank all the punch

Twilight Party fun

I am looking to have a party next week to celebrate Twilight. What are some activities that worked? It looks like you had cupcakes with you punch. I'd appreciate any advice. This is my first year.
The best place to look is the YALSA programming wiki at http://wikis.ala.org/yalsa/index.php/Calendar_of_Teen_Programming_Ideas. Scroll down the page to the Breaking Dawn celebration part. The kids liked the Twilight trivia, the Cullen remote control car course, and Twilight Bingo. They also voted for Edward vs. Jacob and we wore necklaces showing if we were Team Alice or Bella or Edward or Jacob. They also liked making Hershey kisses roses and Twilight locker magnets. Email me at bsu@champaign.org if you need other ideas. Good luck! The students will love it.
