New Year, Blank Slate

Happy New Year! It's hard to believe another year's beginning. I love the idea of the new year being a clean slate, a fresh start, a time to begin again.

But I think I've taken this idea one step too far. It's a new year and my mind's a blank slate. I guess that means it's clean and fresh and ready for something awesome to begin. The only problem is, I can't think of what.

I could tell you that I'm in the middle of the new Maureen Johnson book The Name of the Star and that I'm not loving this "American girl at English boarding school investigating Jack the Ripper type murders"as much as my co-worker did.

I could share that it's been a little bit quieter at the library with the UI finals over and the public schools on break.

I could say there was an absolutely beautiful pink sunset today, but that seems a little off topic.

So, I will simply wish for you a year full of good books and some quiet times in which to read them. In return, you can wish for me to have a slate slightly less blank next week.

I'M BAAACK! With the breakdown of our old computer, I did not have your blog on my favorites anymore - but I have it now and am looking forward to 2012 and all your fun blog entries! Go Betsy Su! :)
